Services: Balaclava Road Children's Centre

Balaclava Road Children's Centre is a community based, not-for-profit Child Care Centre, which has operated from these premises since 1978, sponsored by Cairns and District Child Care Development Association Incorporated. The centre is licensed by the Office for Early Childhood Education and Care. Our centre is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Council.

• We cater for babies from 6 weeks to 2 years, toddlers 2-3 years and a multi-age group 3-5 years.
• Daily kindy gym except Friday for the 3 - 5 year old group and Gross motor activities are available daily in the younger age groups. 
• Parent resources available:

  • Information hand-outs e.g. biting, toilet training.
• Ample resources and equipment for children and staff.

• Monthly parent committee meeting - Parents have the opportunity to be involved in policy making and decisions regarding the general running of the centre. Our parent committee works in conjunction with the Director and staff, and conducts a monthly evening meeting at the centre
